How the Challenge Works

OVERVIEW & STRUCTURE

The 2015 Lurong Living Championship Challenge is a 7 week online Challenge that combines nutrition, fitness, and accountability for the CrossFit community. It starts September 14th and ends on November 1st. Everything is centralized on our proven, online platform. It is 3rd Challenge in our 2015 Lurong Living Challenge series, and it will be our biggest and best of the year. You will see results, you will be changed. The Challenge site takes the guess work out and walks you through each step of the way.


The 7 week Challenge is broken down into 3 Phases: Benchmark Testing (week 1 & 2), Transformation Phase (middle 3 weeks), and Benchmark Retesting (week 6 & 7). During the Benchmark Testing phases you will be performing 1 benchmark workout per week with 3 standardized skill levels. You will also have your body measurements taken and your initial weigh-in done. During each week of the Transformation phase you will be challenged with 3 competitive WOD's programmed by 5x Games Athlete Neal Maddox.

Throughout the Challenge you will track your diet, goals, lifestyle markers, trying new recipes, learning, interacting with the community, and competing against your friends and the entire nation. You can compete both as an individual and for your affiliate team.


Affiliate registration is free and they will validate athletes' workout scores, body measurements, and weight.

3 DIET LEVELS

The Championship Challenge features 3 diet options: Elite, Pro, and Starter. Each level has a clear set of guidelines for what foods, beverages, ingredients are encouraged, banned, or allowed in moderation. You have the flexibility to chose any level for any meal, and are rewarded accordingly. The levels provide a challenge for even the most experienced and health conscious, while being manageable for those just getting started. No matter what size of the spectrum you are on, the Championship Challenge will be an enlightening and rewarding experience. Come as you are. Transformation starts right where you are. 3 WORKOUT SKILL LEVELS

The Championship Challenge workouts are programmed by 5x Games athlete Neal Maddox specifically to test your fitness and push you to hit new PR's. For all workouts including the benchmarks, there are 3 standardized skill levels which make exciting for top competitors and appropriately challenging and accessible for those just stepping into the box. No matter your level of fitness, you will have fun and be challenged. Most importantly, you WILL improve.


In order to be eligible for performance prizes athletes must submit a video of their performance. Athletes who aren't able to get their workout validated by their affiliate may also use the video submission feature.

TO EAT OR NOT TO EAT

The nutritional philosophy is simple; eat real foods, control insulin response (blood sugar), and try to balance each meal and snack with a protein, healthy fat, and good carbohydrate. Our 3 diet level guidelines and standards reflect our philosophy and are supported by the scientific data we have collected in previous challenges. The world of nutrition can be scary and overwhelming, but the Championship Challenge makes it easy to follow and succeed. Beyond our general guidelines listed in the rules, you have access to our interactive food search feature where you can search for a food or a category to find if it is allowed, banned, or ok in moderation. If a food isn’t there, ask us and we will let you know and add it to the list. Our goal is not to create nutritional doctrine; it is to help you see real results and establish a new lifestyle. You will learn how your body responds to removing certain foods or food groups and the benefits of replacing them with more nutrient dense healthful options.

What sets this Challenge apart from anything you have experienced is our comprehensive approach to helping you reach your goals. We provide you with a 7-week meal plan with weekly shopping lists and food prep instructions. You will also receive our brand new community recipe book which features more than 50 recipes submitted by athletes just like you who have competed in past challenges. In addition, registration includes access to our online recipe catalogue and our interactive food search.


We have a full-time staff dedicated to answering any questions you may have during the Challenge. And we really do love to help and answer questions. We know that understanding WHY is a key component to your lifestyle transformation. In addition, you have thousands of like-minded and dedicated participants who are standing with you.
